Best Movies of 2018
Dear Alice,
Today I will present you my list of best movies of 2018. So if you are looking for some recommendations concerning your next movie night either in the cinema or at home, I hope that this list will inspire you to find the right movie for you.
So here is my list of best movies of 2018:
11. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi), More on IMDb: If you are a science-fiction fan, then this last sequel of the “Jurassic World” movies will definitely impress you with its magnificent special effects. Still do not have too much expectations from the story line, it is good, but in my opinion does not top the previous “Jurassic World” sequel movie. Even so, this is definitely a movie for a Friday evening, to celebrate the beginning of the weekend.
10. Rampage (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi), More on IMDb: This movie had definitely over-passed my expectations in a very pleasant way: Dwayne Johnson’s acting will definitely surprise you, plus the plot of the movie is really impressive. Definitely a must-see.
9. The Commuter (Action, Crime, Drama), More on IMDb: Definitely an action movie, “The Commuter” will turn your evening into an enigma-solving session, full of mystery and suspense. Even if some of the plot is somehow more than intuitive, there are some turns in the movies that will surprise and will pleasantly impress you.
8. Maze Runner: The Death Cure (Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller), More on IMDb: If you watched the previous two “Maze Runner” movies, then you will definitely want to find out the ending of the overall plot. It is definitely a must see on my list, the beginning of the movie is full of suspense, so do prepare your popcorn and snacks before the movie begins.
7. Game Night (Comedy, Mystery, Suspense), More on IMDb: Being a big fan of game boards myself, “Game Night” was one of those movies that I was waiting with a lot of enthusiasm. And it definitely worth it. The movie will keep you in a continuous suspense during its whole duration, the comedy scenes are more than hilarious, plus the turning of events are more than unexpected.

Ready Player One (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Fantasy), More on IMDb: Depicting a future not so far away from our present days (I would say), this movie is giving you all: special effects, adventure, a great imagination beyond our current development including virtual reality based technology, life lessons that will long not be forgotten such as: don’t be afraid to fight for what you believe in, it definitely pays off.
5. Deadpool 2 (Action, Adventure, Comedy), More on IMDb: Nothing much to say except: just as impressive as “Deadpool 1” movie. Still what brings this movie on the 5th place on my list, is definitely the romantic message of the movie: love is definitely worth fighting for.

Mission Impossible: Fallout (Action, Adventure, Drama, Mystery, Suspense), More on IMDb: After watching “Mission Impossible: Fallout”, I was not only pleasantly surprised, but I was also of the opinion that “Mission Impossible” sequel movies are just getting better and better with every new sequel they produce. So I am deeply impressed, and I am of course hoping for the next “Mission Impossible” sequel, which can only get better based on my prediction.
3. Black Panther (Action, Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi, Fantasy), More on IMDb: Great performances, great special effects, the screenplay and the direction are just brilliant, and not to mention the subjects of the “Black Panther” are more than contemporary. Placed in a fictional reality, where an advance civilization uses secret advanced technology to help the contemporary civilization to know and to assimilate “a better way of living together in peace and harmony”, the movie touches several sensitive topics from our contemporary society, among which: the female power, the future is female, sharing of resources between countries independent of their status in order to bring a better balance in the world. A movie that will get you thinking for a long time and that will definitely convince you that it touched a subject that it is about to become quite present! 2. Avengers: Infinity War (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi), More on IMDb: I was waiting for this movie for a long time, it is a great opportunity to see all of your favorite heroes united (one way or another) in one and ultimate fight for protecting the whole universe and the whole humanity from the Evil Thanos and its maleficent plans. A fight in which the good guys and the bad guys use all of their weapons to make the best out of it. The only unexpected part of this movie is that during the ultimate fight, the evolution and the reasons behind the Evil Thanos’ plans are depicted in such an amazing way, that you start wondering if there are always the good and the bad guys out there, or if there are really only the good guys and the good guys that are misunderstood for a reason. A great movie with a fascinating ending, one of my favorite movies endings!
1. Aquaman (Sci-Fi, Fantasy), More on IMDb: It may be that this is the last movie I saw in the cinemas lately, so this is why “Aquaman” makes the top of my list. Still, nothing to regret about watching this movie! The special effects are creating an outstanding underwater Atlantic world, where you are diving so real into the unknown territories of the deep blue ocean, that you just want to pause the whole IMAX experience for being part of this Atlantic reality for a longer time. Yes do watch this movie in IMAX if you have the opportunity, it will worth it. Apart from the special effects, and the outstanding performance of Jason Momoa, the plot is one of a kind and it is combined with hilarious contemporary and actual scenes. Also the supreme message (along with a multitude of metaphoric messages in the movie) that “love conquers it all” definitely brings “Aquaman” on the top of my list of best movies of 2018.
