Healthy Living: Improve your Training with Garmin Swim
Dear Alice,
Today I would like to take some time and to talk to you about one of my biggest addiction: swimming.
I love swimming and I try to go swimming every 2 times per week (in the best case possible even 3 times per week. This frequency happens most likely in summer). I believe swimming is healthy, it reduces stress-level, it builds muscle, it improves your sleep and definitely your mood! So it is great activity!
I started swimming when I was in high-school. I think I must have been like 14-15 years old…Since I could not learn swimming randomly (like in holidays or at some indoor/outdoor pool), I attended some swimming courses at that time, which proved very effective in my case. Even though I was the only teenager taking place at the course, I felt the connection to this extraordinary activity right away!
And the connection become even stronger as I grew up, and I started improving my swimming techniques. So by now I am quite confident to swim the three swimming-styles: backstroke, breaststroke and front crawl (or freestyle).
Though I must admit that I could not crawl until like 6 months ago when I attended a beginners freestyle swimming course in Graz in Auster Sportbad Eggenberg. And even though the course was quite difficult, after the 12 whole sessions I started to “crawl”. The synchronization, and the breathing still needed some improvement, but that’s life: there always room for improvement! So I decided to practice freestyle stroke by myself! And in addition to my trainings, this December I was lucky enough to receive one of the greatest gifts: the Garmin Swim watch! A substantial invention I never forget at home anymore when I go swimming!
To make long story short: Garmin Swim is a waterproof watch device, that automatically detects the four swimming strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) and it records the swimmer water efficiency by computing the total time and the number of strokes per lap. Moreover the watch can upload the recorded data to the computer so that you can view your status online via the Garmin Connect app. Pretty cool!
All in all: Garmin Swim watch is a great discovery! It helps me improve my freestyle technique and it motivates me to go swimming over and over again. I can hardly wait for my next swimming training session I can record with Garmin Swim and then upload and analyze on my computer.
Good job Garmin! Thank you for this significant discovery!
You should definitely try it too!
Sincerely yours,
madalina
