Best Recipes Ideas: Quiche Lorraine
Dear Alice,
Today I would like to present you a delicious recipe that I simply adore, and that is the Quiche Lorraine recipe! So here are the essential information you will need when you decide to prepare such a dish.
- What is a “Quiche Lorraine”?
- Hmm, this is definitely a French dish, a kind of pastry, a “cake”, or a “tart”. It consists of a pastry crust filled with different custards containing either vegetables, or meat, or a mixture of the two. Yummy! I will present you here the light version of the Quiche Lorraine that I adapted from different classical recipes. It is still as delicious as the classical one I can assure you, so do not hesitate to try it yourself as soon as possible.
- When to prepare it?
- You can enjoy this recipe together with the loved ones, with your friends and acquaintances or you can simply cook this recipe to offer it as a gift for a birthday or for instance for Eastern (as I chose to do this year). From my experiences, I like to prepare it in Springs (since Spring onions are one of the main ingredient for the custard). I even prepared it when I was invited to different Barbecue events during Summer or early Autumn. It is a great gift to bring at a picnic with friends as well.
- What do you need for it?
- 200 grams Flour
- 100 grams Butter or even better vegetarian Margarine (I recommend in any case Thea 🙂 )
- 4 tablespoons Milk
- Pinch of Salt
- 100-200 grams Turkey Ham
- 2 Spring onions
- 150 grams Creme Fraiche
- 1 cup Milk
- 3 Eggs
- 100 grams Cheese (definitely Gouda)
- How do you prepare it?
- Really easy! Just follow the steps described below, and please ask me for any further details or information you might need. And do not forget to tell me your impressions 🙂 !
Sincerely yours,
madalina

2. Cut the onions and the turkey ham in small pieces.
3. Fry the onions and the ham in olive oil until they get a golden color (not brown 😀 ).
4. Mix the flour, butter, milk (4 tablespoons), and salt together until they form a dough.
5. Keep the dough for like 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
6. After that just cover up a porcelain tart form including its sides with the whole dough.
7. Mix together the cheese, eggs, creme fraiche and milk (the cup of milk) together.
8. Add the onions-turkey-ham mixture to the cheese-milk-creme fraiche composition to form an homogenized custard.
9. Add the custard to the dough in the porcelain tart form.
10. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven (200 grades Celsius).
11. Enjoy it! You can eat it with or without green salad.
