Lifestyle: Flying the Kite for Recreation
Dear Alice,
Today I would like to talk to you about another recreational activity you could perform during your weekends or during your holidays, and that is: flying a kite! It brings a lot of joy and fun, a lot of happy faces to you and to your audience, so go ahead and give it a try! It is actually quite easy to acquire such a kite, and then enjoying it when the wind allows you too…It is yet another creative way of spending your spare time.
Here is how I found my connection to this new activity of flying a kite. Last spring I found myself in a store in Graz looking for some new game boards to acquire. I was looking and scanning around the store, and there it was: the section with kites draw my attention.
Even though the kites section itself was quite limited, I kind of knew I want to fly one of those kites and to feel the wind through my hair and through my hands guiding the kite up in the sky.
So this weekend, it was a good weather to fly the kite! The wind was not so powerful as it could have been, but it fit the purpose I expected. So close to the innovation Park in Graz, we found the perfect place for flying the kite! By the way, for future uses I would recommend to fly a kite in a park, or an open field, even the beach maybe. But stay away from trees, roads, power lines or airports.
I must say that flying the kite was not as easy and straightforward as I expected. The activity requires some concentration, a lot of dexterity, and definitely the wind on your side. But it feels great: when the kite flies up in the sky and you have the power to control it, it is that moment when you realize that little things in life make you really happy!
Looking forward for my next encounter with my kite. And I hope this will happen this summer at the beach 🙂 .
Sincerely yours,
Madalina
